All About This Company

All About This Company
  • Originally Howard Anderson Auto & Marine Upholsterers, this business was bought by Stephen Broad on Howard's retirement in 2009.

  • The company continues the traditions Howard established with the main focus still on marine and vehicle upholstery.

  • In recent times we have branched out into supplying and fitting Rhino-Rack roof racks and become more involved with furniture restoration.

  • And of course we still love restoring classic cars!

Stephen Broad - Owner

Stephen Broad - Owner Stephen had worked for Howard since leaving school in 1992 gaining his Trade Certificate in Motor Trimming in 1997.  He now has more than 20 years experience in the trade.  Since buying the business from Howard in 2009 he has spent much more time in the office but still enjoys getting out into the workshop as often as he can.

When not working Stephen spends his time as a Boy's Brigade leader, going boating and fishing, and does at least three tramps each year.  He has also ventured onto the hockey field this year playing division two hockey for the first time.

Jonny Low - Senior Upholsterer

Jonny Low - Senior Upholsterer Jonny joined the company when he left high school in 2002.  He has more than 12 years experience in a job that he enjoys, in part, because of the wide variety of work carried out (although these days he mostly works on the marine side).  He likes to complete a task from design, through manufacture to the finished product.

Jonny and his partner have two children aged 6 and 4.  He is a former soccer player but is now spending more time on house renovations and his furniture project.

Trish Douglas - Office Manager

Trish Douglas - Office Manager Trish has worked in offices since leaving school.  In 2002 she was employed by Howard Anderson to work part time and when Stephen bought the business in 2009 she stayed on as sole office person working five days a week.

She spends much of her spare time with her husband, parents, and younger sister but her greatest interest these days is singing.  In 2013 she joined the Foveaux Harmony Chorus, an a capella group singing in four-part harmony and competing nationally as part of the world-wide organisation of Sweet Adelines.
